Description:
|
A printed scroll inspired by a series of woodcuts known as Triumphzug Kaiser Maximilians I. After a four column introduction, the bulk of the scroll contains a series of pictures joined by the text of a poem (based on J.R.R. Tolkien's poem Errantry), while along the bottom is a time line of the wars of the 20th century, enumerating their casualties. Scroll is attached to a handled dowel at one end, enclosed in a stiff cylindrical hinged encasing, inserted into a brass shell casing, then placed in a custom wooden box. Digitally printed in red and black on canvas.
