This book was produced in Tim McDowell's Art 221 Printmaking: Imagery through Process.Book introduction: This book is inspired by Anna Atkins's 18448 scientific reference book British Algae: Cyanotype Impressions. This publication was one of the first to use life sensitive material as means of recording botanical specimens. Through this bound series of seven prints I offer a guide to identify the seven types of plastics produced nowadays. For decades plastics have been discarded in nature and in our oceans and will never disappear. I present a new record of what is found in today's natural environment surely in areas where Atkins found her British algae two centuries ago and everywhere else across the planet
