Boston Public Library catalog of Nason’s work states that this is a study for a 1947 larger wood engraving titled BURNT COVE, and that “The artist commented that he likes this small block better than the larger design based on it.”; Amanda Burdan, organizing a Florence Griswold Museum show of Nason’s work, in Sept 2008 informs us that this was a demonstration block done here at Conn College
